Pastors, Elders & Deacons

Pastor

The Pastor shall have charge of the welfare and oversight of the Church. He works with the Leadership Team and other Church leaders to lead the Church in the achievement of its mission, proclaim the gospel to believers and unbelievers, and shepherd Church members and attendees.

Youth Pastor

The Youth Pastor oversees the ministry leaders of children ages 4-10, and is responsible for the discipleship of those in middle and high school.

Elder

Elders are to be servants of the Church in accordance with I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. Their purpose is to serve with the Pastor in caring for the Church’s members as the spiritual overseers. The Elders are to spend their time in prayer and teaching the word according to Acts 6:2-4.

Teaching the word of God for the purpose of discipling the members of the church.
The Elder must watch over the flock, strengthening the weak ones, guarding the vulnerable ones, rebuking the obstinate ones, and bearing with the difficult ones. II Timothy 2:24-25, Acts 20:28, I Thessalonians 5:14
Ministering to the sick as in described in James 5:14.
Elders have the responsibility of settling disputes in the church. Acts 15:1-2.
Elders shall serve as a council of advice and confer with the pastor in all matters pertaining to the welfare and work of the church.
Elders shall in counsel with the pastor, by such methods as the Holy Spirit may direct and in accordance with New Testament teaching, are to have responsibility of the discipline of the church. In administration of which they are to be guided always by the principles set forth in Matthew 18:15-17, I Corinthians 5:9-13, and I Thessalonians 5:12-14.

Deacon

Deacons are to be servants of the Church in accordance with Acts 6:1-6, 1 Philippians 1:1, Timothy 1:1-13, 1 Timothy 5:17, Titus 1:5-9, and Hebrews 13:17. Their purpose is to serve with the Church and staff in performing the pastoral ministerial tasks of proclaiming the gospel to believers and unbelievers, and caring for the Church’s members and other persons in the community.

Deacons shall be zealous to guard the unity of spirit within the Church in the bond of peace and harmony.
They shall serve as a council of advice and confer with the Pastor in all matters pertaining to the welfare and work of the Church.
They are to establish and maintain personal fraternal relations with all members of the Church. This does not delegate to the Deacons the right of authority over members of the Church, but is to be advisory in nature only.
